Additional features and trims were available, including the Charger R/T with a 5.7 L Hemi V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The basic SE model included a 2.7 L V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission with "AutoStick" manual shifting feature, 17-inch wheels, air conditioning, all-speed traction control, as well as ABS and electronic stability control, a CD player, tilt and telescoping steering column, power locks/mirrors/windows, and remote keyless entry. However, from 2009 onwards, all-wheel drive was also an option for the SE and SXT versions. All-wheel drive was first only available on the R/T package. For the first time, a V6 engine was available, as was all-wheel drive (AWD). Initially, the Charger was available in SE, SXT, R/T, R/T with Road/Track Performance Group, Police, and Daytona R/T versions. Although the 1999 Charger concept car also featured four doors, it otherwise shared little with the 2006 production model. First generation: 1966–1967 Īfter a 20 year absence, Dodge reintroduced the Charger in 2005 for the 2006 model year as a Chrysler LX platform-based four-door sedan. The Charger was positioned as a more expensive and luxurious coupe aiming at the market segment represented by the Oldsmobile Toronado and Ford Thunderbird market segment instead of the other muscle cars. Mercury was successful in its execution in introducing the upscale Cougar, which was both larger and more refined than the Ford Mustang that pioneered the pony car concept in 1964. American Motors had already built a very similar vehicle in 1965, the (Rambler) Marlin, which was positioned as a personal car, an emerging market niche. The 1966 Charger was an effort by Dodge to produce an upscale, upsized pony car. In the United States, the Charger nameplate has been used on intermediate sized pony cars, muscle cars, and personal luxury coupes, as well as on subcompact hatchbacks and the current Charger is a full-size four-door sedan. The Charger has been built on three different platforms in various sizes. A 1965 Charger II concept car resembled the 1966 production version. The first Charger was a show car in 1964. The Dodge Charger is a model of automobile marketed by Dodge in various forms over seven generations since 1966. ![]()

![]() The company, founded in 2017 on a purported $900 pooled by four friends, is expert at promotion. ![]() But so what? Or, rather, I should hope it's good chicken, as it's all they do. That was a waiver worth requiring.ĭave's Hot Chicken makes good chicken: moist, flavorful, more to my preference than KFC or Popeye's. Once, at the Coxsackie pub Cask and Rasher, a fearsome creation called the Necro-Wing, studded with Indian ghost chiles, caused me, after a single bite, to spasm with hiccups. The lamb phaal at Karavalli in Latham would nod condescendingly at Dave's Reaper chicken and say, "Keep trying, kid." Requested super spicy, the papaya-based som tum at the former Kinnaree in Albany would outpace Dave's Reaper in a spice mile by a full track lap, and it was a salad. I'd guess two or three Reaper tenders eaten consecutively, without the cooling effects of bread, pickles or in a slider preparation, might be challenging even for some who like spicy food.īut the claimed heat level and its attendant waiver are more hype than reality. The Reaper, the only remaining step up for Dave's customers, is indeed seriously hot. Extra hot has considerably more kick, though no more so than, for example, the extra hot wing sauce that is my default at McGeary's Pub in Albany. The medium barely stirred my palate's spice needle. For comparison's sake, I also ordered medium and extra hot, all three as sliders. Well! As someone who convened a table of spice hounds to taste the area's fieriest restaurant dishes for a Times Union story, I felt obligated to try the Reaper at Dave's Hot Chicken. The chain capitalizes on the explosion a few years back of the Nashville Hot Chicken preparation, based on cayenne-loaded frying oil dousing the chicken, and more recently on the spicy-chicken-sandwich wars fought by national chains.Īn even bigger shtick from Dave's Hot Chicken is those ordering Reaper-spiced chicken are required to sign a waiver that takes up about 4 inches of receipt paper and warns that consumption could lead to harm, including but not limited to "bodily injury, property damage, emotional distress or even death." The big shtick is the spice level, in seven steps: No Spice, Lite Mild, Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot and Reaper. Mac-n-cheese is available as a side, as is a container of the kale slaw. Most combos include fries, and everything comes with a creamy condiment called Dave's Sauce, which seems to be predominantly mayo and adobo sauce, plus a little added sweetness. You can get it as a plain tender, meaning it comes with a slice of white bread and pickles, or the exact same piece of chicken as a slider, on a bun with pickles and a smidgen of kale slaw (cheese optional). It has one thing, basically, a tender that looks to be no more than 4 ounces. ![]() ![]() There was room for standing inside, but the whole place is only about 2,500 square feet, and there's table seating for about 40, so most people waiting were outside.Īnd they were waiting for fried chicken tenders. According to Nancy, that meeting was "when she and Michael fell in love" and Ann decided to follow Mike back to Canada. One day in 1972 (or 1971 ), Mike crossed the border to visit family, and by chance met Ann at a Hocus Pocus (or White Heart ) show. Definitely housekeeping needs to attend to these issues inside the room, so facilities do not deteriorate with time. Merriweather Lakehouse is definitely a good-looking hotel that can definitely deliver but needs to improve a bit in certain areas. Also, there is a pool/lounge on the top floor that gives a great look of the lake, but moderately small. These two issues were not as bad, but a bit uncomfortable. There were two things that we had issues with during our stay: the shower's pressure - a bit slow for washing hair, and leaking water from the air conditioner to the carpet. The bed and pillows were more than comfortable, and bathroom/shower quite spacious. We were fortunate to book in advance a junior suite, a 390 sq. Both provide a great view of this lake and would also recommend getting a room/suite with balcony. In regard to the room, I highly recommend booking at least a lake view room or junior suite with lake view. Another case was the main restaurant not being able to sit people after being told the first time that it was 25-minute wait, but it was more than expected during mid to late breakfast hours. An ice bucket took two reminders and more than two hours to get to the room, for example. Either you get a friendly or cold response most of the time. Because the AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) can't autocorrect metadata storage formatting, AWS DMS creates the objects in quotes. However, this isn't a best practice, because doing so can cause unexpected behavior. With either database, it's possible to override these default formats by encasing object names in quotes when you create them.
